‘Ohau Run’ – a long held tradition with Otago and Canterbury groups (outsiders definitely welcome!)

May 17 - May 18

A wonderful run held ‘somewhere’ in the South Island. Organisation alternates between the Otago clan, and the Canterbury crew.

This run was a long-standing tradition that went into hiatus for a number of years, but it was re-ignited a few years ago and is now looked on fondly as one of the highlights of the southern regions’ calendars.

This year Canterbury is coordinating it, and we will be returning to the fabulous Ohau Lodge. The event has been held in all manner of places including Tekapo, Naseby, Timaru, Geraldine and Oamaru and we always look for new places to go. However – the return to Ohau, its origins, is always greeted warmly by participants.Last time it was held at Ohau there was an absolutely incredible hoar frost that mesmerised all!

All, of course are welcome, regardless of where you are from in the country, but you would need to ensure you keep up with any updates which will be posted here or contact us per below email.

21/03/2025 Update:

Originally slated for the weekend of May 24th and 25th the lodge is unavailable that weekend, so this event has been moved to May 17th and 18th. More details will be posted as they are firmed up. The usual format is Dinner, bed and breakfast with a selection of accommodation options.

If you need more info either feel free to email chch.arocnz@hotmail.co.nz and mention Ohau Run.
